Recently we set our staff a small challenge - to initiate or sustain biodiversity.
Our Assistant Contract Manager, Larry, found a great website called Naturehood. Naturehood provides a really interesting survey to see how wildlife friendly your green space is, whilst giving you tips to improve it. So, we set our team a challenge to see if they can engage with the website and add some touches to their green spaces.
Tips from the website include:
- Planting wildflower seeds
- Letting a patch succumb to nature and encouraging insects and bees to flourish
- Cut a wildlife door (a small hole in a fence) to help creatures like hedgehogs roam for food and not become trapped
- Put out bird feeders.
You can see a couple of pictures of how well the team did to the right.
